Today while I was working, I was looking through other people's blogs & realized that I really REALLY missed being creative. Whether its working on a blog (which I haven't done in a while) or doing my passion, photography - another thing that I've really really been slacking on. I've felt for the longest time that there are parts of me missing. Well, I figured out one thing. I haven't been able to focus on my artistic side. SAD!
So, I'm hoping that perhaps some time this weekend I'll be able to step away for a little bit, maybe enjoy some coffee alone, maybe go to a farmers market, just somewhere beautiful... And look for those little things that other people have missed... and photograph the shit out of them. :)
xoxo...Good night.

I absolutely love what she did with these polaroids. What a cute idea! xoxo
Tis the season...To drink champagne and boy do I love champagne. Here are some fun champagne ideas I found online!
- Passionfruit Sorbet - So easy just place half the sorbet in a blender with half the sparkling wine. Process until well combined. Pour into 4 chilled glasses.
-
Strawberry Kiwi - This one is a little more work but still so simple even the kids could do it. In a medium bowl, scoop out the insides of 2 cut kiwis with a regular teaspoon. Add cut strawberries and mash the fruit with the back of a fork until a fairly smooth paste is formed. Place about 1 tablespoon of the fruit paste in the bottom of each glass and fill with cider or Champagne. Garnish with the whole strawberries and sliced kiwi.
-
Raspberries and Amaretto - Mash the raspberries well with a fork, stir in the mint and put a teaspoon of this mixture into the bottom of each glass. Add the Rose Water and Amaretto, stir well and top up with the chilled champagne. Serve immediately.
-
Pomegranate juice - Just add 1 tablespoon to each glass.
-
Grapefruit juice - Just add 1 tablespoon to each glass.
There are so many fun, festive options - you can even come up with your own house signature champagne cocktail then pick a funny name like the Social Affliction or the Couture Buzz. Cheers!
So, ignore the laundres on the floor of my bathroom...haha... And look at my super cute new dress! I didn't do anything that involved dressing up on new years, and I had this super cute dress that I wasn't able to wear. We went out to dinner at our FAV location, Bin98Twenty. Perfect opportunity! I love dressing up and don't get to do it enough.
I have two other dresses that I need to find an excuse to wear. Any girlfriends up for a ladies night?? :)
We went to Eagles Ice Arena for New Years Eve. Rob and a bunch of people get together and play a couple of hockey games every new years. Afterwards, theres a potluck afterwards with lots of booze. :) This year there was also a karaoke machine! After I had liquid courage, I got up and rocked the machine.
Heres my double fisting liquid courage for the nights festivities!
Luckily there were people there willing to help me out with the songs too :)
Christmas came a little late this year. It was on a Thursday & we weren't able to make it up to my parents until the following Sunday. We left really early and got yo my parents fairly early in the morning. We opened presents. "We all made out like bandits this year", as Bob would say...
Heres the amount of snow that was at my parents when we got there. It continued to snow.
My mom wrapped all of the presents beautifully!
Later on in the day we went to my cousin Tina's house for Christmas to exchange presents & hang out. Heres a picture of the snow on our way in to town...
Flowering Tea is probably one of the neatest things I saw this year. This little flower pod up above is actually infused with green tea & jasmine. You take it and put it in a tea pot...
Poor hot water over it and allow it to steep for 5 minutes...
You'll see it start to open a bit, just be patient...it gets better...
Beautiful huh?
You can order these online. I ordered the flowers (12 of them) and a tea pot for less than $30.00. You can resteep each flower 3 times, so you actually end up with a lot of tea. It tasted wonderful!
